Congrats to the 2008 NAN winners!! :)

Ok whew! I think I've gotten most of them linked up to the right pictures. That's most of the fun right? :) I'm so tickled to see such a variety of winners this year (in divisions) and a variety of painters. What a surprise this was for me to stumble across the names I recognized from photos sent to me and just by word of mouth getting back to me. I may not have everyone so please don't be offended - I also may have something mixed up here too. I decided to just link to webshots albums rather than try to credit photographer's names. Plus they are user names for a reason (not everyone wants their full name there). If you'd like credit I'd be happy to stick that in too.Please send any corrections on and I'll try to get to them asap (mind you it took me since Tues to get this up so... mmm.. I'll try to be fast anyhow!) ;)

Sincerely though, kudos to everyone and thank you so much for bringing my works to the Nationals!!!! And on to the fun horsies (with links to pics!!)....

[update Thurs July 24th - I've added 2 more on to the bottom now & thank you SO MUCH to those sending along these results!!] :)

Picture pages picture pages.. up at long last!

Chipping away at the website updates here…

http://www.artbymorgen.com/gallery.asp

I’ve added 19 new pics to the winners gallery – some at long last that came in after the weekend updates but that we older show results. Some that I dug out of the corners of my in-box that I've missed.. I even remembered to put them in order so the newer ones (well newly added at least) are first ...that would make more sense for the viewer, huh? As always, if there’s a mistake (misspelling, anything!) in there PLEASE let me know! Tx! (morgen@one-horse.net)

Oh SHOOT! I haven’t announced it here but yeah… my website has a whole new look and fun “paypal” buttons (and easier ordering info) on Hazel’s page thanks to the help of my friends..! And with that, I gotta run for today..

[addenum to last!] Ok, color me INGRATE (blushes)

I left of a HUGE update earlier today (yesterday I guess now) when I posted all that below. I owe some people some heavy duty thank you’s!!!

I have to laugh b/c I spent all this time going wild and inadvertently left out the more important half (imo!) of my items I needed to get to… lets start with thank you’s ...

from NWC; Mel Miller – bless you for your help at the last minute with EVERYTHING.

From DKL; Heather Roell, you are SUCH a saint and really too sweet to be so concerned. It all worked out!
J I had a great time talking to you too & hear it was a good show so RELAX! J

From HVC; Jackie Arns performance tackaholic! This woman not only accepted my request to proxy Janice’s Hazel in performance & halter (at the 11th hour) since I got drafted, she did it in style and really pulled out all the stops. To be honest, I don’t think performance is about the horse so much as it is about having the tack on right and the scene set up correct (which is why I don’t do it). ROCK on woman! Thank you!!!

Jackie’s little “Otto” that I painted for her a few years back now also didn’t do so shabby the following weekend at NEMHC… ;)

Another winner I spied in the top results @ NEMHC British Pony Breeds (18 entries)

  1. Bruce (SMB “Otto” painted by me and owned by Jackie Arns) placed first in breed and workmanship under Jen Al-Beik and Sonya Johnson and took home a Top Ten in Workmanship :)

… I didn’t spy any pics showing him WITH the ribbons but here he is getting ready to fight the bigger fellows I guess :) http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2538460230055238779qBELJf (added on! :) I just got this sent to me from Jackie--> Pic of Bruce at RXR this past year!)

note-

Also at NEMHC (I really REALLY didn’t look at the tables but I did recognize this name in the results!) J is that Ann Harris’s always dapper “Clever Hans” didn’t do so bad in a class of 22 “European Warmblood” entries for both halter and workmanship either imo. .. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2515042920055238779xMKaGk ;) (I so dig him and he has gone “all the way” in performance I hear too?)

Also of note for a winner is that at Hudson Valley Classic..

Thoroughbred/Standardbred (11 entries)

  1. Flame (CMc) owned by Corrie McDermott & painted by Danelle Gatcombe (pics of him here http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc35/intothesunstudio/new%20models/flame005.jpg and here; http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc35/intothesunstudio/new%20models/flame004.jpg ) took first in workmanship under judge Karen Pajack

And my last thank you is that I really need to thank LISA again (miss Gruetter is a world of help too) for showing Vanessa’s proxy horse there at HVC. And also for her help with a lot of last minute things that weekend... you know m'dear - thank you! :D

(((HUGS to everyone for their help!!!))) J

Righto, so I wanted to get this up tonight asap.. even though it’s a little choppy and might not make sense when I look at it tomorrow. But MAN did I feel bad about leaving off the thank you’s most especially! Yipes! (these things come to you when you are FAR away from computers of course) ;)

So much NEWS! :)

Whew, well where do I begin???

I will save the full low downs and explanations for my yahoogroup post shortly. HOWEVER, I am going to let the world know this so that anyone not spying my yahoogroup post doesn't wonder why Lisa is emailing them and not me.. ;)

I am SO pleased to announce that Lisa Gruetter has accepted my request (begging and pleading) to help take over some daunting aspects of organizing sales. Lisa lives quite near to me but that’s not really the reason I asked her to do so: she’s one of the most organized hobbyists I know. She runs a very tight ship. I think this goes hand in hand with being a Navy wife for 18years. ;)

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
>>>TIME PAYMENTS<<< (yesssssss I know everyone's been begging me and I've balked so much over the years but Lisa is all about keeping on top of them so WOOT for everyone!) Emails coming from artbymorgen@yahoo.com are now likely to be from Lisa (she'll sign). I have access to it all still so don't worry there. :) Contact me directly through morgen@one-horse.net (or artbymorgen if you've had that bouncing issue in the past). It's all good - I'll see/hear about it eventually. :D You'll just get a MUCH more prompt reply from Lisa than me. ;) Here is Lisa's Greeting Letter(I dubbed her title fwiw) :)

"Hello,

I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Lisa Gruetter. Some of you may already know or have heard of me. I have been an active part of the hobby since 2002 and been a bookkeeper since 1997.

I will be taking over the bookkeeping and most online sales for Art by Morgen. Why? Morgen asked then begged. LOL Seriously, Morgen and I both felt she needed a bookkeeping intervention for her studio which will free her to more of what we all would like her to do… be an artist and not a bookkeeper. J

As we progress into the implementation of the new system, I’ll be posting new sales terms for Hazel along with some new business practices, like Time Payments! YEAH! And… Morgen possibly one day taking on more commission pieces!

Morgen will be “lurking” in on all transactions and ready to answer any questions that you may have that I cannot answer for you. J

We hope that this will make a more streamlined process for Morgen’s customers; giving you more complete updated order status, timely communications and better customer service.

Thank you,

Lisa Gruetter

“Bookkeeper & Organizer Extraordinaire!” "

Next:
The MARE everyone is asking about of course is the real mare Lizzy from my last posts. She has been back for a while and I'm confident in saying she's doing a great job of recovering. She spent a week at Tufts and had lost some weight. But lookit her now! :)

I took some reference photos of my donkey & the rest of the herd for fun (curled lip shots of my boy). http://www.artbymorgen.com/galleries/gleep_n_friends/

Weekend Winner’s Update (maybe this should read "month's winner update?")

I haven’t even had the time to update the “Weekend Winner’s Update” page for (yikes, a month I guess!) to my blog but will do so shortly. I did manage to write down results below. I should have the photos saved and up to my blog in the next day or so. I also REALLY need to THANK Vanessa Dahl for her Mindy commission idea. She’s done quite well also, her results are below as well (she’s “Fancy Foo”). ;) More super close up photos are here: http://www.modelhorseblab.com/forums/showpost.php?p=885183&postcount=15

~~~~& Next – “Fancy Foo” the “ordinary” roan Mindy owned by Vanessa Dahl..
(Bless the judges for using the magnifying glasses to SEE those crazy tiny hairs I spent all these months laying down and blending. Bless Vanessa for her patience when I kept thinking I'd be DONE soon.. and then wasn't. And she missed several shows with her. But if you click to enlarge you'll see how much crazy close-as-scale-detail-as-I'm-ever-going-to-get-roaning is there...! No, I didn't use a magnifying glass to draw them but I had to work in punctated time periods to give my eyes a break).
And really quickly since I didn't have time to find out owners or photographers... some I spied and saved:
And these two sent to me by Diana Patterson are DREADFULLY overdue - sorry Diana but thank you!!! (hugs!!) :)
Opps! Almost forgot these from Shelia Anderson (her finishwork is AMAZING!) (8-o
his studio shot above and his win at Stone Little Expo against the big guys too.
Ok, I think that's it for now. News on Breyerfest stuff (even though I won't be there) will be posted here/elsewhere and most certainly in depth on my yahoogroup soon.
:)
In the meantime I'm looking at potentially 60hrs a week of NON-computer NON-studio time for a little bit so PLEASE bear with me. This is why we gotta all LOVE Lisa. Thanks sweetie!! :D
